Paris Shopping and Saint Laurent SS14! Xx

During our trip to Paris we went to Galerie Lafayettes,
where we fell in love with Saint Laurent properly.

Saint Laurent SS14

We then went onto Printemps, the department store next door
Laduree, Maille and Angelina's taking in a gorgeous bar
on the Pont Neuf along the way.
Take a look at our journey.

In Galeries Lafayettes we loved Zadig and Voltaire, Isabel Marant
and Kooples, but of course we most adored Saint Laurent
which was also our favourite SS14 collection.
The quality of the clothes themselves is just so gorgeous.
Also check our piece on Christian Dior Addict Fluid Stick
The collection is just so simple, so sure of itself.
It is very 80s and rock n roll in inspiration.
There are low slash cut mini dresses with wide shoulders,
skinny cut suits in grey tailoring
or black and gold stripe lurex, black leather skinny pants,
mini skirts and see through black chiffon shirts.
There are military jackets, tuxedo jackets, teddy boy jackets,
and leather jackets worn with tiny tops, skirts and dresses in
flashes of gold and silver lurex, sequin, leopard, flame and lip print,
fuchsia, emerald and sapphire shades.

Take a look at the rest of the collection and
pieces you can buy from

This is what we loved looking
at most in Galleries Lafayettes.

They hang from metal factory-type rails on luxury hangers,
from the lip printed dresses to the finest silken
knit black T shirts, with their
original details of fine darts and golden chain hangers.

We especially love the Saint Laurent shoes
with pointed toes and small pointed kitten heels.
The shoes have ankle straps sometimes studded,
sometimes in bright red patent lizard,
sometimes in leopard, sometimes in bright punk neon
patchwork and worn with sparkly ankle socks.

This is exactly what I was wearing in the 80s.
The socks were Mary Quant lurex or neon and shoes
were dark emerald green leather from Bertie in South Molton Street.

We are also loving the shape of the pointed ankle boots,
in bright red snakeskin, silver, patent black or bronze leopard.
