NARS Spring 2013 Collection with Jenny Smith @ Selfridges! Xx

OK so we went to a fantastic 3 hour make up lesson at Selfridges
with the NARS team
led by Jenny Smith all the way from New York.
Jenny Palmer and Jenny Smith of NARS

We started from the very beginning, by taking every scrap of make up
off and toning our skin before moisturising and priming.

Our Nars Laptop of Eye, Cheek and Bronzer Colours

We used:

Eye Make up remover
Make up removal Water
Gentle Cream Cleanser
Multi Action Hydrating Toner
which works wonders on dry patches on your skin
leaving a wonderful tingling feeling
Check Selfridges

Our table with the lovely people from NARS that helped us.

Jenny then showed us NARS' Two Star Products

*Optimal Brightening Concentrate
The essence of the NARSskin collection.
This serum enhances the way your make up goes on
and contains with a light-reflecting complex

It brightens skin and revitalizes the complexion.

and Total Replenishing Eye Cream
This absorbs quickly to visibly reduce fine lines,
wrinkles, the appearance of dark circles,
and helps to reduce puffiness.
It also contains the NARS exclusive Light Reflecting complex
which reflects light like a prism.

We applied
the amazing Luminous Moisture Cream

A really Good Starter Pack for NARSskin
is this Travel Set £95:
As you get full sizes of the two star Products and trial sizes of
three other products in a great Deluxe Travel Bag

Now just before the Foundation Stage:
Pore refining Primer and
Skin smoothing face prep.
My foundation was:
Sante Fe Sheer Glow Medium 2
which I applied with my fingers starting from Cheeks outwards
in a circular motion blending with the layers of Optimal Brightening Concentrate
and the rich Luminous Moisture Cream for a perfect finish.

Then for the Brand New Radiant creamy concealer in Custard
Exclusive right now to Selfridges
This has the most wonderful texture and when applied
over the Total Replenishing Eye Cream
blends in perfectly acting to conceal efficiently.

Light reflecting loose powder on t zone and under eyes
Smudge proof eyeshadow base brushed on the eyelids
to help seal the elongate the wear time of the eyeshadow.

These are the Blushers and Bronzers in our NARS laptop.
Orgasm (top left) is NARS' most popular ever blush
and Seduction, the newest and
one I used, (bottom left of the blushers).
The two bronzers at the bottom
are from L to R  Laguna and Casino

I used the darker of the two Bronzers in Casino,

brushed on hollow of cheekbones and then drawing the figure 3,
around temples, cheekbones and chin bone.

Then Maldives Multiple, a gorgeous highlighter
 in shimmering Pink Champagne shade
in figure C above eyebrow and below

The Multiple in Maldives
Shimmering Pink Champagne
The Multiple is François Nars' iconic innovation,
a multi-purpose stick for eyes, cheeks, lips and body,
which is creamy and sheer colour and blends to create
shimmering accents and dynamic highlights to all skin tones.

Our Work Book

Jenny Smith talks us through the Make up Artists and their models'

We had to choose a colour from the laptop for our eyes.
Jenny suggested the new Spring Colours so we were trying something new,
and out of our comfort zone.
Either Mad Mad World, a vivid Cyan and Parakeet Green duo,
or Persia single a spicy deep paprika shade, or Bouthan the Pink duo,
top left of the row of duos.

I choose the beautiful new Duo Bouthan (see below)
for Spring and applied light pink Tulle with brush no 3,
the Bright pink with Golden Shimmer with brush no 13  in the sockets.

Bouthan Shadow Duo
Pink Tulle and Bright Pink with Gold Shimmer

I applied Paper Tiger  - a deep burnt toffee shade
in outside corners or the sockets with a small brush,
and then blended all the shades together.

A purple eye pencil in Manon was drawn very close
to the top lashes and winged out
 and grey pencil in London
(a foggy gray!!) under the eye.

Cheeks are in Seduction the new dramatic Blush for Spring
(could mix with a bit of orgasm under
for that bit of shimmer)
Applied with the beautiful
and really soft Yachiyo Kabuki Brush
(see below)
Seduction Cheek Colour £21.50
Sangria shade

Yachiyo Kabuki Brush no 27
with its tapered dome head, makes it
excellent for defining cheekbones,
highlighting the complexion,
and blending and diffusing color
on or around the eye area.
Paper Tiger shadow is drawn on eyebrows with tiny brush
to define and shape
and clear mascara to brush through
shape and set.
Mascara is of course the Larger than Life
Volumising Mascara
We curled our lashes first with NARS eyelash Curler

Velvet Matt Lipstick Pencil in Damned
These pencils are really easy to use and excellent to keep
in your handbag to top up at any time.  Lip Pencil and Lipstick
in one, they have a divine texture and fabulous colours to choose from.
I adore this shade, very gothic - crushed damsons - beautiful.
