The 70th Golden Globes 2013

This year Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted the
70th Golden Globes awards ceremony which were broadcast live
in the US Sunday, Jan. 13th at 5 p.m.
 PST/8 p.m. EST on NBC.

Presenters Amy Poehler and Tina Fey
We are loving their Converse trainers with their golden gowns! Xx
The Golden Globes always give us a good idea of
what is going to win at the Academy Awards - the good ol' Oscars.
The Golden Globes ceremony is supposed to be much more fun
than other similar Awards Ceremonies.
Ricky Gervais last year famously said

"The Golden Globes are to the Oscars what
Kim Kardashian is to Kate Middleton.
A bit louder, a bit trashier, a bit drunker and more easily bought.
Allegedly. Nothing's been proven."
Check my Post from last years Golden Globes:
The Golden Globes began back in 1943 with the founding of the
Hollywood Foreign Correspondents Association (HFCA),
which was a group of Los Angeles-based international journalists
covering world entertainment which promoted Hollywood films abroad.
The trophy in was designed in 1945 when Marina Cisternas was President
In 1955 the association was renamed the
 Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA)

The journalists within the Association
normally presented the ceremony but in 1958
Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Junior (below)
unexpectedly took to the stage mid-show,
and they were asked to present them the following year.

The 90 voting members, from 55 countries worldwide from the HFPA
are annually invited to approximately 300 events,
and interview 400 actors, directors, writers and producers.
Here they begin forming opinions about
possible film and  TV show nominees.
Online voting begins in November,
with voters having to choose from five nominees in 25 categories.
