Barack H Obama and the Star Spangled Banner! Xx

We say there is nothing more Sparkly than the
good ol' 'Star Spangled Banner'
and Beyonce did it proud by looking a billion dollars
and sounding completely fabulous
as she sang it for Barack Obama's Presidential Inauguration
this Sunday 20th January

Beyonce with gorgeous hair
in Emilio Pucci devoree Velvet beaded and chiffon dress,
Christian Dior black fur coat and
Lorraine Schwartz 80 carat Emerald Earrings and 80 carat Ring
- we saw a lot of Lorraine's jewellery at this years Golden Globes
Check my Post:
Beyonce's nails were a stunning orange,
by her manicurist - the lovely Lisa Logan

Apparently Beyonce was certain that she wanted orange nails
when she walked in to Lisa Logan's salon and Lisa suggests
to use Tangerine on the Rocks by Red Carpet Manicure
to match Beyonce's look:

Michelle wore the most gorgeous
Thom Browne Pre Fall 2013 coat
with a J Crew jewelled Belt and
black leather and suede boots
for the ceremony and walkabout.

Browne received the Hewitt-Cooper National Design Award
for Fashion in 2012 and attended a
White House luncheon hosted by
the First Lady for the occasion in July.

Take a look at some of the looks from
the Thom Browne Pre Fall 2013 Collection

Michelle and Barack's daughters Sasha and Malia
wore Kate Spade electric sapphire blue,
and amethyst J Crew respectively.

Michelle's Dress for the luncheon was also Thom Browne
worn with the cashmere Reed Krakoff cardigan she had worn at the Private
ceremony earlier on.

Earlier at noon President Obama was sworn in
for his second term at a private ceremony
before the public event in the Blue Room of the White House
since the inauguration day had fallen on a Sunday.
Only Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr.
and the President’s family were present.

President Obama had to retake his oath
in private also back in 2009, as Chief Justice John Roberts
had messed up the wording in public.

 Michelle Obama wore an ultramarine
Reed Krakoff shift dress with a matching cashmere cardigan.
Malia wore a electric blue dress by HandM over a
black long sleeve blouse and Sasha wore a

plum lace dress with a wide gold brocade sash
from Tracy Reese’s line Plenty,
made exclusively for Anthropologie.

Michelle Obama looked absolutely stunning
at the Presidents Ball
in the evening wearing a completely fabulous
custom made gown that we just adore by Jason Wu,
Jimmy Choo Shoes and ring by Kimberly McDonald.

We've just found out that Michelle's birthday is 17 January - same as my daughter
Sophie - so all this must have been the icing on the cake for her birthday celebration.
The next day Monday 21 January was Martin Luther King Jr Day

United States federal holiday marking the birthday of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
It is observed on the third Monday of January each year,
which is around the time of King's birthday, January 15.

Michelle looks so proud of her husband Barack - and he so proud of her.
A perfect couple.

At the inauguration Ball in 2009 Michelle also chose to wear Jason Wu
