2012 - James Bond's 50th Anniversary and Who will be the Next James Bond! Xx

We have noticed that we have a new entry in Sparkle Style's top ten
most popular posts - and it is:
Berenice Marlohe Skyfall, Opi and Swarovski
take a look:

It entered yesterday at number 10 and is
already at number 9 today.
Ever is the appeal of everything connected
with the Glamour of James Bond.

Now as the 50th Anniversary year of James Bond comes to a close,
we thought we would have a round up of all the gorgeous men
who have played him, and who might take over
the role when the adorable Daniel Craig moves on.

Above: Photomontage by Jonathan Nickens

The "official" James Bond films have been produced
by Eon Productions and producer Cubby Broccoli (1909-1996),
later succeeded by producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli (below)

Here are all the 23 Official James Bond films:

Dr No (1962-Sean Connery)

From Russia with Love (1963-Sean Connery)
Goldfinger (1964-Sean Connery)
Thunderball (1965-Sean Connery)
You only live twice (1967-Sean Connery)

On her Majestys Secret Service (1969- George Lazenby)

Diamonds are Forever (1971-Sean Connery)

Live and Let Die (1973- Roger Moore)

The Man with the Golden Gun (1974-Roger Moore)
The Spy who Loved Me (1977-Roger Moore)
Moonraker (1979-Roger Moore)
For Your Eyes Only (1981-Roger Moore)
Octopussy (1983-Roger Moore)
A View to a Kill (1985-Roger Moore)

The Living Daylights (1987- Timothy Dalton)

Licence to Kill (1989-Timothy Dalton)

Golden Eye (1995-Pierce Brosnan)
Tomorrow Never Dies (1997-Pierce Brosnan)
The World is Not Enough (1999-Pierce Brosnan)
Die Another Day (2002-Pierce Brosnan)

Casino Royale (2006-Daniel Craig)

Quantum of Solace (2008-Daniel Craig)
Skyfall (2012-Daniel Craig)

Now I found this lovely picture on

Ian Fleming's literary James Bond 007 was 6'0" (1.83m)
tall even without shoes on! Xx

All the Bonds Above were around
the right height, if not taller
where as the lovely Daniel Craig is slightly lacking in this area -
 5 ft 10.25 ins (178 cm) some say 5'8"
Check the comments on:

So when Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli
come to picking a new Bond
please can they bear this in mind
- because no matter how high your lift shoes
you can tell on screen if your leading man is short.

So here are some ideas from two
of the many sites who love
to talk about who will be the new Bond -
What Culture and Esquire.

According to What Culture:
1. Tom Hiddleston
2. Tom Hardy
3 Michael Fassbender
4 Matthew MacFayden
5 Christian Bale
6 Paddy Considine
7 Idris Elba
8 Eric Bana
9 Clive Owen
10 Mark Strong

According to Esquire:
Sam Worthington
Christian Bale
Guy Pearce
John Hamm
Clive Owen: Too cerebral.

Hugh Jackman: Too song-and-dance.
Gerard Butler: Too cheesy.
Jude Law: Too slight.
Shia LaBeouf: Too Shia LaBeouf.

We here at Sparkle Style think Eon Productions
should be looking for a fresh approach,
 and our number one
favourite for the Role of Mister Bond, Agent 007 would have to be:

1: Idris Elba  1.90m 40 yrs
Check the very interesting article:

Here is the rest of our top five:

2: Christian Bale  1.83m 38 yrs

3: Jeremy Irvine 1.85m Age 22 yrs (our youngest)

4: Robert Pattinson 1.85m 26 yrs

5: Michael Fassbender 1.83m 35 yrs

P.S. We love Tom Hardy 1.78m 35 yrs
and Aaron Taylor-Johnson 1.80m 22 yrs
Check my Post:
http://www.sparklestyle.co.uk/2012/12/hurrah-for-prada-man-david-sims-images.html
But we are being frightfully heightist right now -
(only to be literally accurate of course),
and are afraid they are not quite Ian Fleming's 6.0' (183m)

Let us know what you think! Xx

Until next time J Xx
