Robert Clarke London Prints Available Exclusively at Liberty & A-Z OF DOGS - NY EDITION! Xx

British artist Robert Clarke has created
a series of four London themed prints
which are selling at Liberty
for this years Jubilee and Olympic celebration in the city.
The prints are of specially selected items that Robert feels
represent the Capital for him in subtle shades
of grey and accented with red.

Robert comments ‘I went out into the lovely greyness of
London and the most significant colour that shouted London
to me was the red of the buses, the traditional phone boxes,
the London Underground sign and the metaphorical image of the crown.
These pictures were a celebration of places I pass and the things
I see that conjure up London for me.’

The prints are created by The Print Block in Whitstable
and available exclusively to Liberty.
Prints are 50cm x 50cm and are printed on heritage paper
in an edition of 50, priced at £220 each.

Robert was trained at the prestigious
St. Martins School of Art in London.
A highly skilled draftsman and visual artist,
he has worked in various fields
of Creative industries and built up a solid body of work that
has been featured in numerous solo and
group exhibitions in the UK and US.

Paul Smith store showcased a complete series at their flagship
store in Sloane Square and his series of bird paintings
were exhibited at the Zetter Space.

He also caused a stir with two editions of
the A-Z Of Dogs in London and New York.

 Robert Clarke's New York edition
of his much lauded A-Z of Dogs UK
was exhibited at the Rebecca Hossack Gallery
(262 Mott St between Houston and Spring)
in New York from 17th November to 1 December 2011.

The collection of prints features a
selection of smaller, hip, NY city dogs
such as American Bull Terrier, Boston Terrier, Chihuahua,
Pug, Golden Retriever, Russian Toy Terrier,
 Italian Greyhound and French Bulldog.
The small dogs large city vibe
is in contrast to the hardy, solid,
walk the dog on the heath type
English dogs of the British version.

The A-Z is available as screen prints
on 315gsm heritage paper as
 the London show.
The prints can also be bought altogether in an
 embossed denim box.

The Show at the Rebecca Hossack Gallery
was a fantastic success
and the A-Z prints are
available in Liberty London in 2012.

Robert has been painting dogs for over 10 years.
After being attacked by a dog, when a young boy,
he spent most of his early life scared of them.
It wasn’t until his girlfriend convinced him
that they should get a Jack Russell
that he found himself being drawn to paint
and hence celebrate dogs visually.
Robert’s painting style allows the true
character of his sitters to be revealed.
His work has proved to be very popular.
Recent commissions include the furry
companions of jewellery designer and
Vogue blogger Katie Hillier
and fashionista Katie Brand.

Stars in Dior - Rizzoli! Xx

“No Dior, no Dietrich!” Marlene Dietrich famously told Alfred Hitchcock,
a director to whom few would have dared dictate such a demand,
but such was the glamorous actress’s devotion to Christian Dior,
a dedication many stars have since found equally irresistible.

Starting in 1942, the house of Dior has garnered an impressive filmography,
including over 90 films dressing the most ravishing stars in cinematic history—
both on and off screen.
Christian Dior was fascinated by film and most
notably became a costume designer even before his couture house
was created in 1946.
In addition to Marlene Dietrich, the house has dressed Sophia Loren,

Olivia de Havilland, Grace Kelly, Ava Gardner,
Ingrid Bergman, Elizabeth Taylor, Jean Seberg, and many more

Sophia Loren

Elizabeth Taylor

stunning leading ladies who starred in the greatest films,
shot by the finest directors, including Joseph Losey,
Jean-Pierre Melville, Marcel Carné, Henri Verneuil,
Jean-Paul Rappeneau, Pedro Almodovar and many others
all dressed in the most amazing couture creations by the House of Dior.
Brigitte Bardot

Katherine Hepburn

Not only faithful clients of Dior Haute Couture,
Perfumes, and Make-Up, many of these Hollywood stars
were close friends of Christian Dior, and in some cases,
his successors too, so it was quite natural that they should ask
to be dressed in Dior for their appearances
on screen and on the red carpet at celebrated
movie ceremonies held around the world
—the Academy Awards, the César Awards, and the Golden Globes.

Grace Kelly

Nathalie Portman

Times have changed but the passion for Dior stays the same.
Today, the house brilliantly taps contemporary cinema greats
such as Charlize Theron, Natalie Portman,
Marion Cotillard, Monica Bellucci and Melanie Laurent
for its advertising campaigns.
The book devotes a special place to the iconic
J’adore advertising campaign starring Charlize Theron,
in which cinema magic seems to bring screen
legends Marlene Dietrich, Marilyn Monroe,
and Grace Kelly back to life.

Adam Senn for Dolce & Gabbana Sport! Xx

Dolce and Gabbana

The face of Dolce and Gabbana The One Sport is
the Gorgeous Adam Senn,
a model for the Designers since 2007.
Senn appeared in the GYM Fall-Winter collection of 2011
alongside David Gandy.

“His athletic body and persona made him the perfect choice
to represent the fragrance,” states Domenico Dolce.
“He perfectly embodies the strength, determination
and spirit of ‘The One Sport’,” adds Stefano Gabbana.
“I believe I can represent ‘The One Sport’
in a spontaneous and natural way,” explains Senn.
“Sports are a part of my daily life
– I owe credit to sports for the wellbeing of my body, mind and image.”

Sport is self-challenge: a route to fitness,
for ourselves as much as for others.
Sport is an equilibrium of mind and body.
A pure all-Italian ideal, inherited from
classical Greece to ancient Rome:
sport is competition; a beautiful moment
and a challenge for us and our adversaries.

Dolce and Gabbana The One Sport
celebrates the deepest and most
genuine values of sport; and life.

The Campaign

Check this amazing commercial on YouTube

“In the campaign, we wanted to express the mythic meaning of sport,
using the Olympic Games of ancient Greece and the Roman concept of
‘mens sana in corpore sano’ as a reference”
explains Stefano Gabbana.
“Basically, the campaign represents sports
as a part of a healthy lifestyle,”
adds Domenico Dolce.
“The athletic movements, discipline
and fair competition between sportsmen.”

Peruvian photographer Mariano Vivanco,
renowned fashion photographer and author
of the Dolce and Gabbana books
has photographed Adam Senn for
Dolce and Gabbana The One Sport,
as a modern gladiator.

A fresh, clean fragrance with light

Patchouli and musk
naturally compliment the fragrance’s base notes.

The Design

The Design of the smooth glass bottle is a pure and clear
modern shape with a simple red sport appearing on the glass
at the front.
