Temperley London Flagship Store opens @ 27 Bruton Street 1st December! Xx

On 1st December at 10 am the doors will open at 27 Bruton Street for
the first time with an open event to launch the first flagship store of
Temperley London in Mayfair.

This store is the first proper opportunity I have had to showcase the
World of Temperley and it has been a joy to realise it at Bruton Street.
I wanted to create an effortless and timeless environment with a
touch of decadence to compliment my collections in the heart of the city.
The store is truly British, with a sumptuous French Salon feel that I hope
 is inspirational but accessible.
This is a real milestone moment for the Temperley brand and
I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved”
Alice Temperley, MBE

The beautiful Georgian building will house all three Temperley collections;
Temperley London, the ALICE by Temperley contemporary line
and Temperley Bridal across two floors equalling 2,500square foot of retail space
including a ‘By Appointment’ private shopping salon accessed via an elevator from a private entrance.

The store is Alice Temperley’s own vision, which she has executed
by curating all elements herself, from sourcing antiques and
feature pieces to working with artists to create a revolving
seasonal exhibition in-store to ultimately
showcase a complete World of Temperley.

Alice has directed the interiors to work in sympathy
with the Grade II listed building emphasising the important features
such as the hand painted wooden ceiling on the first floor.
Decadent details include the shop front ‘Temperley London’
logo etched in gold through black glass inspired by French pharmacy frontages
from the 1920’s, unique art deco clothing rails inspired by vintage bird cages
and bespoke furniture in rich plum fabrics throughout the store forming
‘conversation areas’, all in an elegant colour scheme
influenced by the Regency Era.

Alice has worked closely with her favourite London antiques dealers
in sourcing furnishings which includes vintage chandeliers,
antique gold mirrors and a notable six foot 1970’s bronze palm tree lamp,
as well as commissioning oversized decorative taxidermy butterfly domes,
the latter being available for purchase.

Other artworks on sale include chinoiserie style hand painted screens
by Frederick Wimsett, who has also painted delicate birds directly
onto the walls, custom made textile animal dolls by English artist
Alice-Mary Lynch in Temperley fabrics, decorative backgammon boards
with dice inset with semi-precious stones by Alexandra Llewellyn Designs
and one-off patriotic eclectic china mirrors by Candace Bahouth
Alice did her first internship with Candace aged 14 resulting in her passion for textiles.
