In December's Vanity Fair James Fox flies to St Tropez to interview as he
says 'the most beautiful woman in the world"
Above James Fox photographed with Jimmy
his son with Bella Freud the daughter
of Lucien Freud
and great Grandaughter of Sigmund Freud.

James is Married to Fashion Designer Bella Freud and
Worked with Keith Richards on his memoir and he says Moss
is more or less a member of the family.
His interview is brilliant and is the source of
all the quotes we are reading at the moment,
since Kate notoriously doesn't normally speak to anyone.

Kate Moss began modeling as a teenager and achieved
recognition when photographs of her shot by
Corinne Day appeared in British magazine The Face

Check my Post on Corinne Day's Exhibition at the Gimpel Fils Gallery:

at the opening of the Gimpel Fils Exhibition

'It's such a refined talent" says Sam McKnight about Kate Moss'
"It's a Silent-movie actress, and she's one
of the best silent-movie actresses I've come across."

James Fox writes in Vanity Fair:
'Corinne was something of a bully, as well as a perfectionist ...
"Corinne would make me cry' says Moss.
" I see a 16 year old now, and to ask her to take her clothes off
would feel really weird.
But they were like, If you don’t do it, then we’re not
going to book you again.
So I’d lock myself in the toilet and cry and then come out
and do it. I never felt very comfortable about it".
And in this interview she says that Corinne used to say to her
'The more I piss you off , the better pictures I get.
And I'd just look at her with a look of 'Hate you"'
Because I was myself. I don't want to be myself, ever.
I'm terrible at a snapshot. Terrible. I blink all the time.
I've got facial Tourette's Unless I'm working and in that zone,
I'm not very good at pictures, really"

Mary McCartney at at Stella show

as James Fox says in the Vanity Fair Article 'she has a habit of looking at you
mouth open in scream position, ... head nodding, face creased up"

She made her so-called “waif” mark as a counterpoint
in the 90s to then-dominant,
 Amazonian supermodels like Cindy Crawford,
Claudia Schiffer, and Linda Evangelista,
and, with countless international magazine covers
and fashion features, and campaigns for brands
including Calvin Klein, Chanel, Bulgari, Dolce and Gabbana,
Gucci, and Longchamp, has remained one of fashion’s
most enduring and influential forces.

Kate goes on to tell James in the Vanity Fair Interview:

"I had a nervous breakdown when I was 17 or 18
when I had to go and work with Marky Mark
(Mark Wahlberg) and Herb Ritts"
recalls Moss, who regretted doing the pictures.
"It didn't feel like me a t all.
I felt really bad about straddling this buff guy.
I didn't like it. I couldn't get out of bed for two weeks.
I thought I was going to die.
I went to the doctor, and he said, 'I'll give you some Valium,"
and Francesca Sorrenti, thank God ,
said, 'You're not taking that." It was just anxiety.
Nobody takes care of you mentally.'

Re Johnny Depp:

Kate and Johnny met at the Cafe Tabac in New York City back in 1994
and dated on and off until their final public appearance at the 1998
Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas'.
”There’s nobody that’s ever really been able to take care of me.
Johnny did for a bit. I believed what he said. Like if I said:
‘What do I do?’ – he’d tell me. And that’s what I missed when I left.
I really lost that gauge of somebody I could trust,

In the 90s Kate and Johnny Depp lived on Waverly Place
right near to Carolyn Bessette John Kennedy Jrs then girlfriend,
Lucie de la Falaise who was married to Marlon Richards, Keith Richards son

with Iggy Pop

'When I was with Johnny Depp, he always stayed at the Ritz,'
 says Moss.
'I had an apartment in Paris at the time, but he said,
'No, we're staying at the Ritz,' so he came by and swept me up to the Ritz
 - he didn't want to slum it in my apartment!'

Kate says: 'I drink the French 76: vodka, sugar, lemon juice topped up with champagne:
it's the best drink ever, but
it only tastes like that in the Hemmingway bar' says Moss here in L'Espadon.
'Colin made it for my wedding . I doesn't taste at all strong - and then,
whoa, whoops-a-daisy'

Our Beloved John Galliano with THE dress Xx

John Galliano on first meeting Kate:
'wow, I'd found my little rough diamond.
She was just amazing-put the dress on,
immediately understood what she was wearing, the line, the walk.
It was her frock.
There was that magic, an enigma, there in front of us, The hair!
She had gorgeous long hair. She was a real beauty.
But there was more there. She was, even then quite guarded.
I don't really think that anyone knows who she is today."
