CHANEL's classic revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld: The Little Black Jacket comes to London! Xx

On Thursday October 11th in the presence
of Karl Lagerfeld at the Saatchi Gallery in London,
CHANEL previewed the exhibition,
The Little Black Jacket: CHANEL's classic
revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld
a celebration of the modernity and the timelessness of CHANEL's jacket.

Me by one of my absolute favourites from the

fabulous Exhibition:
Karl Lagerfeld's portrait styled by Carine Roitfeld of Elizabeth Olsen
I adore the perfect insouciance of this image
- the iconic little black jacket is here
worn inside out with the sleeves folded back
to show the buttons and fabric.
Elizabeth wears it over a simple white top with her
long blonde hair naturally tousled.
This is the Little Black Jacket at its most stylish,
purely beautiful,
comfortable and most loved.
A portrait then, of how gorgeous
the little black jacket is to wear.

I also love how Karl printed this for the London Show
in a series of positives metamorphosing to negatives,
which he did similarly with the Haider Ackerman
and Elisa Sednaoui Portraits.

Check also my Posts when the Little Black Jacket Exhibition
 originally opened
on March 24th during the
incredible 4 day Chanel Soiree in Tokyo

and at
18 Wooster Street,NYC on June 6th

The 113 portraits in the London Exhibition
took six days of to shoot -  in New York, Cannes and Studio 7L in Paris.
 A photographer and stylist's dream -
taking portraits of the most talented people in their fields
of Art, fashion, Film, music and literature
and asking for them to portray their Personality
- their Raison D'Etre through the medium of the
beautiful 'd'objet' that is the CHANEL little black jacket.
And wow what variations we see - what different plumages!!
 The Images are absolutely fascinating.

The Saatchi Gallery is of course an
ideal location to Exhibit Karl Lagerfeld and Carin Roitfeld's
Portraits of the fusion of Couture, art, design and Street Culture.
It is placed just past the established high fashion of Sloane Street
with the beautiful stores of Chanel itself,
which leads to Sloane Square, the beating heart of Chelsea,
and the beginning of the Kings Road.
Since the 1960s this stretch of road from Duke of York HQ
has been the famed and Iconic show place
and natural catwalk for London's innovative,
rebellious and liberated Style and Fashion,
right up to the World's End, and the backwards running
clock of our beloved Vivienne Westwood.
Hurrah for London! Xx

Joining Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld, at the London Opening
were guests Keira Knightley,
Alice Dellal, Anna Mouglalis, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Chloe Moretz,
Stella Tennant, Dame Zaha Hadid and Edie Campbell.
Lou Doillon performed to a captivated audience
at an intimate dinner afterwards, at the members club
5 Hertford Street, in honour of Karl Lagerfeld.
