Toughness & Delicacy - the Perfect Mix @ Prada SS13! Xx

So Miuccia Prada has made a significant departure
in look and feel from her last collection.
Very refreshing, very new, very Special.
She explained it backstage to Hamish Bowles
on Vogue.com as "Japanese and the Sixties" and as
“the struggles women have between toughness and softness,
the rigor followed by delicacy, and the poetic part of women.”

These ideas have obviously been at the forefront of Prada
as the DNA of her design ideals, but never more so since
The Costume Institute Exhibition at the MOMA NYC,
perfectly partnering her with Elsa Schiaparelli and having those
'Impossible Conversations' which must have been very inspiring
re how women should dress and present themselves,
in this modern world with so many contradictions at play.

Check my Posts:

The first part of the show is all black (representing our toughness)
with carefully placed images
of daisies and dandelions (representing our delicacy).
Shoes are Japanese in palest pink, gold or silver leather split toe boots
(like jika tabi) with silver or pink bowed flats or platforms (like geta) worn over.
References perhaps to the Geisha Girl, but a tough version (hopefully).
Then there is dark green, and a purple dress and we see
Scarlet Red introduced to the decoration on the flowers which echoes
the fabulous and beautiful matt scarlet red lips throughout.

A beautiful White fur coat with scarlet daisies worn with a
cream satin mini skirt,
and we are into the 12 piece satin section which
is just gorgeous.
Peppermint, palest rose, meringue,
scarlet and ebony satin folded
origami style in a modern short kimono look,
appliquéd scarlet white and black daisies.

Bags are fur with chain handles, patent leather
and daisy appliquéd satin.

Take a look at Prada SS13
We Love! Xx

here are some details of shoes, bags,
glasses and the amazing red lips

see the matt scarlet lip is highlighted with
white pencil at the cupids bow

Until next time J Xx
