Ted Baker's Fabulous New Store on the Brompton Road! Xx

Ted Baker is delighted to announce the opening of
his new store within the renowned Knightsbridge Estate,
on Saturday 9th June 2012. The 4786 sq ft store is
situated between two of the world’s most famous retail icons,
Harvey Nichols and Harrods on the busy Brompton Road.

As one of London’s most exciting shopping destinations,
Brompton Road offers international visitors and residents a vibrant,
high-profile location in the heart of the capital’s most
prestigious postcode - while being a stone’s throw from
beautiful Hyde Park and cultural icons such as the
Royal Albert Hall and the V&A museum.

Taking creative inspiration from surrounding areas,
the store is designed around the Great Exhibition.
The ground floor showcases Ted’s SS12
womenswear collections and in keeping with the regal tone,
it is a celebration of Queen Victoria.
The cash desk is made from commemorative crockery
and the fitting rooms are adorned with
luxurious red carpet, bespoke printed wallpaper,
antique lights and various pictures of Her Majesty.

Decorating the first floor walls is digitally
printed bespoke wallpaper,
depicting a collage of Elm trees,
based on the Avenue of Elms which lined the original
Crystal Palace in Hyde Park.
Amongst this are tailor-made
Victorian cabinets which will display
Ted’s women’s accessory collections.

Connecting the two floors is a
large sweeping staircase made from
dark timber and marble.
Red and gold ropes with gold chains hang from the ceiling,
whilst bespoke bell jars hang upside
down displaying various Victorian objects
and descend with the staircase at
eye level creating a mini exhibition within itself.

A marble runner leads down the stairs into the
basement which sees the SS12 menswear collections
displayed amongst rich ruby reds,
contrasting duck egg blue and gold.
Vertical strips of mirror and a digitally printed
pattern feature wall arch over the room,
taking inspiration from the Crystal Palaces arches.

The downstairs cash desk glistens of gold,
with it’s collections of tiny Big Ben statues,
standing together. The men’s fitting rooms
pay homage to Prince Albert and the
many characteristics for which he was known,
such as family man, educator and dog lover.
Within each fitting room will be
interactive boxes inviting customers to explore.

The store provides a regal backdrop to showcase
 Ted’s SS12 collections.
Ted’s womenswear collection celebrates
the female form with defined waists,
full skirts and cut away detailing.
Flower power reigns supreme with English roses,
peonies and cherry blossom in full bloom.
Ted’s menswear collection is like a self-portrait,
capturing all the elements of his personality,
whilst offering a bright and breezy take on Riviera dressing.
