British artist Robert Clarke has created
a series of four London themed prints
which are selling at Liberty
for this years Jubilee and Olympic celebration in the city.
The prints are of
specially selected items that Robert feels
represent the Capital for him in subtle shades
of grey and accented with
red.
Robert comments ‘I went out into the lovely greyness of
London and the most significant colour that shouted
London
to me was the red of the buses, the traditional phone boxes,
the London Underground sign and the
metaphorical image of the crown.
These pictures were a celebration of places I pass and the things
I see that
conjure up London for me.’
The prints are created by The Print Block in Whitstable
and available exclusively to Liberty.
in an edition of 50, priced at £220 each.

The Show at the Rebecca Hossack Gallery
was a fantastic success
and the A-Z prints are
available in Liberty London in 2012.
Robert has been painting dogs for over 10 years.
After being attacked
by a dog, when a young boy,
he spent most of his early life scared of them.
It wasn’t until his girlfriend convinced him
that they should get a
Jack Russell
that he found himself being drawn to paint
and hence
celebrate dogs visually.
Robert’s painting style allows the true
character of his sitters to be revealed.
His work has proved to be very
popular.
Recent commissions include the furry
companions of jewellery
designer and
Vogue blogger Katie Hillier
Until next time J Xx
