Hotel Le Lavoisier Paris! Xx

When we went to Paris just before Easter
we stayed at the Beautiful Hotel Le Lavoisier
in Rue Le Lavoisier just off Boulevard Haussman in the Fashion District
not far from Galeries Lafayette and Printemps
It is very chic Boutique Hotel in a quiet Parisian street -
we loved it.

Of course there is a lift but we love
the traditional staircase at the Hotel le Lavoisier

Le Lavoisier is really near Opera, Concorde and La Madeleine

and Boulevard Haussmann

The Gorgeous Kate Moss was everywhere advertising Dior Addict Extreme
Here she is literally all over the side of Printemps in the David Sims picture.

Galeries Lafayette is amazing  I have never been before
- too busy going to the shows to go shopping!! Xx

Sophie had a manicure from the lovely lady at the Dior Counter
with Lucky Varnish

We shopped for our Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick
and Nail Varnish in 'Lucky'

So after Galeries Lafayette we rushed to the
Gorgeous Place Vendome and to tea at
the Ritz Paris check my Post
then after chilling out in the courtyard
and drinking my French 76
we took a taxi to the Eiffel Tower.

Now this was Sophie's first trip but my fourteenth,
and I had yet to scale the heights
of the legend that is the Eiffel Tower.
The tower stands 320 metres (1,050 ft) tall,Gustave Eiffel -
the man who also built the structure to the
beautiful Statue of Liberty in
my other Favourite City
(aside from our dear London) New York
The queue for the lifts was apparently four hours long
- so it was the stairs for us - over 300 on
each of the first two levels.

Model on the stairs of the Eiffel Tower

The third and highest level is accessible only by elevator,
where there is a Bar a Champagne thank goodness!

For me there is nothing so exhilarating as climbing
tall buildings - the taller the better.
I love both the experience of climbing and
the view from the very top.

We did this at the best time
- we got to the top an hour before sunset
which at this time of year is around 7.30 pm
 - the visability is then clearest,
and then you get to see the tower lit up on your way down

Second Day - and a bus tour around Paris to check the sites for Sophie.
First a quick stop at the Pyramid at the Louvre -

run to Rue de Rivoli at the Musee des Art Decoratifs to
look at the Louis Vuitton/Marc Jacobs Exhibition check my Post
then back on the bus to check
 Pont Neuf,
Notre Dame,

Place de Concorde
and the Hotel Crillon
 Champs dElysees

Arc de Triomphe de l'√Čtoile
Musee D'Orsay, Musee Rodin,
then we jumped off near Place de Opera and Place Diaghilev

 to wander round Laduree
and Lachaume Karl Lagerfeld's favourite flower shop in the Rue Royale

Time for a leisurely tea at Cafe de la Paix

the restaurant to
the Grand Hotel right by the Opera.

Then back to our hotel to relax in its
calm surroundings before we asked for them
to book us a cab to Gard du Nord!!

'Bonjour Paris', as Del Boy would say! Xx
