Harpers Bazaar & Browns Launch Women for Women International T Shirts! Xx

Harper’s Bazaar in partnership with 
London fashion boutique Browns, 
 launched its third annual T-shirt project on 12 March with a 
Champagne Reception at Browns in South Molton Street W1.

Six top French fashion designers are all involved 
 to raise money and awareness
 for Women for Women International, 
a charity helping women whose lives have been ravaged by war.

Chloé’s Clare Waight Keller, Martine Sitbon of Rue du Mail, 
Isabel Marant, Vanessa Bruno, 
Nathalie Rykiel, president and artistic director of Sonia Rykiel, 
and Agnes B have all designed their very own, 
exclusive T shirt (£40 each)which will be sold as 
part of the project through Browns in London 
and selected boutiques worldwide from March 12th.

Fashion designer Isabel Marant says: 
“It’s a very simple message. 
Strong, independent women are the inspiration for my work.
 A collaboration like this is a way to show 
genuine support to women who’ve suffered the effects of war.”

Bazaar’s ‘Women for Women’ T-shirt campaign, 
which first launched in 2010 with 
English fashion designers and sold through NET A PORTER, 
was born out of a meeting between Harper’s Bazaar Editor,
 Lucy Yeomans and Baghdad-born charity founder, 
Zainab Salbi, who is well known in the US as the author of two books.  
Since 1993  Women for Women International 
has not only distributed more than £60 million in direct aid 
to conflict zones but, crucially, 
also works to build economical and educational infrastructures, 
allowing women to become self-sufficient and leaders in their own communities.

Harper’s Bazaar Editor Lucy Yeomans says:

This is the second time Harper’s Bazaar and Browns 
have worked together to raise funds for Women for Women International. 
In 2011, Harper’s Bazaar brought together top 
Italian designers including Donatella Versace, 
Frida Giannini for Gucci, Veronica Etro, 
Angela Missoni, Albert Ferretti 
and Rossella Jardini at Moschino for the project, 
which was launched during Milan Fashion Week at 10 Corso Como.
