Marc Jacobs AW 12 Xx

Sheer Magic and Sheer Wonder yet again from the man
who the brilliant Sarah Mower at US Vogue calls the
'Fashion Impresario'
and this the 'Best Show in Town'
full of 'Cartoony Victoriana'.

Artist Rachel Feistein created the rickety houses
that were the set

and Marc himself described the show as
'Cat in the Hat, Pilgrims
and American Conservatism'

He said a photograph of Kurt Cobain
with tinsel round his neck inspired him.

The Cat in the Hat Book (I grew up with these books)
one of Marc Jacob's inspirations for AW12

Here is Virtual Insanity by Jamiroquai
in a similar Hat

The One and Only Stephen Jones of course is responsible
for all the fabulous Hats

The Legendary Stephen Jones

Three versions of 'Who will Buy' from Oliver
played at the Marc Jacobs show

this is by Nancy Sinatra from 1967
one of Lana Del Rey's idols
see my posts

here is 'Anything' from Oliver by JayZ
We love this too ! Xx

We think it all looks a bit like Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter
in Tim Burton's Brilliant Alice in Wonderland
Certainly Helena Bonham-Carter who also
stars in the movie will LOVE if not ADORE this collection.

check the rest of Marc Jacobs AW11 show - enjoy - it is majorly creative,
incredibly beautiful and absolutely perfectly eccentric.
We completely adore the colours -
deep purple, violet, scarlet, charcoal,
emerald, yellow ochre, lime, silver grey, forest green,
magenta, ebony and citrine,
in an extreme mixture of textures - sparkling brocades,
jacquards, houndstooth, furs, pvc,
thick woven lurex tweeds, paisleys, silks and knits,
all worn with big diamante buckled Victoriana shoes and socks.

Especially for VALENTINE's Xx We LOVE this! Xx

We LOVE Marc Jacobs! Xx

Until next time  J Xx
