We are loving Lana Del Rey born 21 June 1986 as Lizzie Grant
in Lake Placid New York
her songs include Americana themes including
glamour, beauty, fame, boys, love,
surfing, Coney Island, James Dean, Frank Sinatra, and Marilyn Monroe.
Her artistic influences are Elvis Presley, Allen Ginsberg,
Britney Spears, Nina Simone, Nirvana, Leonard Cohen,
The Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, Antony and the Johnsons
John Waters, artists Mark Ryden and Marilyn Minter,
and photographers Juergen Teller and Philip-Lorca diCorcia.
In 2010, as Lizzie Grant an EP entitled Kill Kill was released
by Five Points Records with producer David Kahne
Re-named in June 2011 a collection of songs
called Lana Del Reywas released.
Del Rey was signed with Stranger Records and the 'Video Games' single was issued.
In October 2011 she signed with Interscope Records.
released 31 January
Born to Die video New Single
Lana is a mesmerising talent with an original voice and despite
her vintage reference a majorly modern attitude.
Apart from anything else she looks amazing
with a timeless glamour and
she just doesn't care about the cynics which, in itself is very cool.
Her official NYC debut was at the Bowery Ballroom
which you can read about on
The stage was set with four huge balloons that projected vintage images of
Elvis, Las Vegas and Marilyn Monroe -
apparently she made her entrance to the score of Psycho
and she sang without you, blue jeans, video games, born to die,
summertime sadness, you can be the boss,
off to the races, radio, and million dollar man

We are completely loving Blue Jeans
which has echoes of
Chris Isaak's Wicked Game
Chris Isaak
Blue Jeans is a genius of a video of Lana mixed with
Super 8 film image collage of Monaco, Las Vegas, Tupac, gangstas,
neon lights and roses.
Lana Del Rey would make the best face for the Prada SS12 Campaign
and their Americana Collection right now.
She would suit the high octane Dolce and Gabbana and Versace Glamour
- and she is looking straight out of a Guess campaign aswell.
Lana is like any Dolce Vita starlet - Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe, Natalie Wood,
Gina Lollobrigida, Brigitte Bardot - Rita Hayworth
- she is pure 24 carat glamour with
that rock edge.
