Glenda Bailey arrives with Sophie Headley of PR Manager at Selfridges

Here Glenda talked about taking over the helm of Harpers Bazaar NYC on the
difficult date of September 12 2001 - the day when Fashion would seem the last thing on
everyone's mind & when hope had gone out of the heart of the city.

She rebuilt the magazine to be a strong title for Hearst which has
a strong joie de vivre and she believes very much in
having a sense of humour within fashion and creating a party to
which everyone is invited.
Harper's Bazaar under her leadership has won numerous awards and had enormous newstand-sales growth.

The images she has created with her Creative Director, the Brilliant Stephen Gan (founder, editor, creative eye of Visionaire, V & V Man)
are iconic and memorable.  She says it is difficult to have favourites as
she is attached to all the images and of course being in Fashion is all about what's next - but mentioned two - the Cover of Demi Moore styled by
Rachel Zoe in 2010 where Demi is dressed simply
in short Alexander McQueen dress and his Armadillo shoes. She is
three quarters of the way up a spiral staircase on a deserted beach  ... feeding a giraffe.

And the image of Kate Winslet photographed by Peter Lindbergh in white Ralph Lauren Collection dress hanging from scaffolding in front of the Manhattan skyline - breathtaking

Glenda is interviewed by Liberty

Glenda Bailey - with her Book Bazaar's Greatest Hits

skyline - amazing shot.

Glenda was my Editor on the launch of UK Marie Claire back in 1988 when
I was Fashion Editor - it only seems like yesterday - lol! Xx

Glenda did another signing at the V&A on Sunday over 100 people turned up ...
